The site was originally listed in 1998 which makes it ten years old. As I said, Google likes sites with some age but this can be overcome with the right backlinks. So lets see how many back links www.evangelicalbooks.com has. According to Yahoo there are 1060 links to this site. This may seem like a lot but most of them are links that don’t really have much ranking with Google. If you wanted to beat this number of links all you would have to do is build 3 links a day for a year and you have 1095 links. This is not unreasonable if you want to build a site with Christian business content.

Within a year your Christian blog or Christian book opportunitie site could over take the #1 spot for this targeted key word. This is the trick to getting traffic to your site. Do not pick a keyword or group of keywords that thousands of other people are targeting. Instead, find the words that people search for which aren’t popular with other webmasters.

The other question to answer is if there is any traffic actually looking for this keyword. Maybe the reason people aren’t targeting this word is because there is no traffic. Well, currently there are 24 people each day, on average, typing in this keyword. That means 744 people potentially each month visiting your site. This isn’t bad but it is not end of the process.

When you found 10 of these unpopular keywords and ranked for them in the serps (search endgine results pages) you would have almost 75,000 visitors a month. Why do you want Google to love you, because when Google loves you it sends you traffic. Backlinks are when a website owner puts a bit of text on their site that takes the visitor to another site when it is clicked. For example, the MAKE MONEY link for Grizzly’s blog above is a backlink to his blog. When Google’s web crawling spider sees that link on this page it will give Grizzly’s site credit for being more important because I found enough value to add a link. The more back links a website has the more important Google thinks that site is and the higher it is listed in the search pages.

A web crawling spider is just a computer program that is constantly going out and looking at every page on the internet. While looking at the website the spider keeps track of what words are on the site and how many back links the site has, among other things. The program then uses this data to determine how important the page is and thus how many visitors it will get.

So basically there is on page SEO and off page SEO. You must optimize your website for both in order to get the most traffic possible from Google.  You probably will not be successful with an online Christian business opportunity if you don’t implement SEO.
