Whether you have a Christian home based business on the internet or not you can benefit from starting a blog. Blogging has been around for several years but it has only been recently that savvy internet marketers have been using them for internet marketing. Blogs were originally popular with teens as an outlet for their emotions. They were basically an online diary. They worked great for this but now blogs are being used as a part of almost every successful online business.
What exactly is a blog? Blog is the widely used term that refers to web log. This is just an internet program that allows you to easily add content to your website. It is like a journal online instead of in a notebook. Many people are saying that a blog is the best business to start online. The start up costs can be little or absolutely zero depending on the options you choose, so it is a great way to test out a Christian home business idea. This site you are visiting is a blog.
Blogging is great for getting information out to potential customers easily and quickly. All you do is write a few paragraphs and hit publish. The information is now posted to the web. The search engines also really like blogs because the content is usually changed daily or at least a few times a week. Many Christian business opportunities are promoted on blogs. There are also some really good blogs regarding how to make cash online.
With a blog you no longer have a one way dialogue with your customers. Since blogs have a comment section it is much easier for your customers to ask you questions. You can also use the blog to ask your viewer what type of products or services they would be interested in buying. As I have said before, when starting a Christian home based business you must understand what the customer wants in order to be successful. With a blog they can literally spell out exactly what information or product they are looking for.
So how do you start a blog to promote your Christian based business? If you don’t have a web site now I would suggest you start a free blog at wordpress.com or blogger.com. These blogs are absolutely free to set up and run and they are a great way to get your feet wet on the web (get it? Webfeet. Small joke). Who said a Christian home business couldn’t be fun?
Another option if you have a webhost account is to load a wordpress.org blog onto your server and use that platform. These are very similar to WordPress.com blogs but you have to pay for the hosting and they are more difficult to set up. If you are just starting out try a free blog and see how you like it.
