I search the web every week looking at other online Christian business opportunities. To be honest there are not very many Christian opportunities online that are real businesses you can make money with. Most of the sites I find are trying to sell people on the idea of buying a Christian product business and selling religious items.

I don’t have a problem with this type of online business. There are a lot of website owners who are making good money online with this type of business but they have only been able to do this after a lot of hard work. The websites that are selling these types of Christian product businesses forget to tell you about the work the other owners have done. The person trying to sell this type of business makes it sound like you just put up a web page full of pictures of products and the customers will show up and make you money.

The reason I started this Christian business blog is because there is so much misinformation out there about how to make money online. Unfortunately, a lot of the home based businesses advertised on the web are designed to make the seller of the website rich at the expense of the person buying the site. By posting to this legitimate Christian business blog I hope to dispel the untruths about online business opportunities and help you to build the kind of business you can be proud of.

The problem with buying a ready made website set up with products is you don’t really know if people want to buy what is on the site. You can literally spend thousands of dollars for a web site and go through months of work to set it up. Then, when you finally host it online you find that no one is really interested in what you have to sell. Or, you find out that there are a few hundred other web sites out there trying to sell the exact same items. It is hard to be successful with a home based business under these circumstances.

Here is what works a lot better to build a business based on Christian opportunities online. Before you do anything about buying a business or deciding what type of business opportunity you are going to follow to make money, you need to find out what people are searching for on the web. The problem I have with websites that sell Christian based items is that people do not search for “Christian product store.” Why? Because it is too general.

You have to focus on a small set of search terms that are very specific. For example, it is very possible that people are searching for “Christian Christmas ornaments” at Christmas time. In fact, for November, 1300 people searched for “Christian Christmas Ornaments” and 1600 people searched for “religious Christmas ornaments” according to Google Adwords Keyword tool. Nobody searched for Christian product store.

By building a website that is optimized for the two keyword phrases above you will have the chance to capture those 2900 people when they are searching for ornaments. If you optimized for another 50 items, which is not unreasonable with an online store, and they all had the same level of searches you would have the potential to capture 145,000 customers. If you can’t make money from 145,000 people then there is a problem.

But it only works when you learn how to optimize your website for the search engines so you can show up in the search list when people are looking of the items you sell.

This idea is so simple that even kids can make money online once they learn it.

Lots of kids make money online by using the technique of finding out what people want and then giving it to them. These kids are no smarter than you, they just know that you must sell what people want to buy. You can’t force them to buy what you have to sell. If kids make money online there is no reason you can’t have a successful online internet business.

You can make money with a Christian home based business if you don’t forget about your customers and you learn what they are searching for.
