Let’s be clear about something up front. The earning money on the internet idea has been surrounded with hype for years now. Most of this comes from people who are trying to make money off of you. The pitch goes like this. They show a picture of some man or woman who is making $5000, $10,000 or $50,000 a month and tell you that this could be you. They ask if you want to learn how to earn extra money and they say these people did too. This part is true, you can learn how to earn money on the internet and make a great income. In the next step they offer you a “business in a box” which they claim will allow you to start earning money online so you can be rich too. Again, this is probably true. Most of these business ideas actually do work because there is really no mystery to finding successful internet business opportunities. All the internet business models work about the same.
But here’s the kicker. They don’t tell you how long it will take to find success. They make it sound like you can put up a website and earn easy money from the get go. This is just not reality. The people who are featured in the advertisements did not just start their online businesses last week or last month or usually even last year. Instead, these people have often times been online for five or ten years to build their business up to that kind of cash flow.
If you want to earn free money the internet is not the place to be because every successful person has spent countless hours working on their business in order to build it up to where it is today. The fact is, if you want to learn how to earn money on the internet then the first thing to do is to is get rid of the notion that an online business somehow allows you to suspend business truths. Nothing could be farther from reality.
If you are going to be successful online then you are going to have to learn the business and apply the necessary techniques you learn. Actually, finding out how successful businesses work is not the hard part. As I said, the majority of these “business in a box” plans will work. The hard part is doing the actually work that is necessary to get things done right.
Putting up a website is the easy part, the real key to success online is getting potential customers to your site. If you don’t do this, then there is no way you will ever find success online.
